Hi, I'm Matthew

I am a husband, a father, an advocate, and above all, a fierce believer in El Paso’s future.

Living in the Borderplex, I learned early on that our community’s greatest strength is its people. My wife is a local doctor who dedicates her days to caring for our neighbors, and together, we are raising our family right here in District 8. Every day, when I look at my kids, I am reminded of what is at stake in this election. I want them, and all of our children, to grow up in a city that offers boundless opportunity, so they never feel forced to leave the home they love just to build a career.

I am running for City Council because El Paso’s greatest export shouldn’t be our talent. For too long, we’ve watched our brightest minds graduate from UTEP or local high schools and pack their bags for Austin, Dallas, or Phoenix. We can reverse this brain drain. My vision is to transform District 8 into a powerful "Magnet City" by cutting the red tape for local entrepreneurs, aggressively recruiting high-wage tech, medical, and energy industries to our urban core, and modernizing our outdated zoning laws to create affordable housing and economic development.

True leadership means being accessible, listening to the community, and delivering real results. I am ready to go to work to protect our neighborhoods, invest in new economic partnerships, and build an El Paso that keeps our families connected and eventually draws our homegrown talent back home. I would be honored to earn your vote.
